nights, 2 days - July 15th to July 17th
Pick up in Marseille airport / Avignon TGV
July 15th
Hotel Location : Crillon Le Brave We will be picking up at Marseille airport/train
station around noon and Avignon TGV station at 1:00pm. From the airport
the transfer time is about 1.5 hours and 45mn from
Avignon TGV station to get to our beautiful hotel atop
a hill surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
Once at the hotel we'll setup the bikes and those who
wish can go for a ride. We'll have quite a bit of
time, and those who wish to ride the most can ride a
very picturesque loop ride to Sault (lavender capital
of France!) = 82km. Those who do not care to ride
quite as much can choose to ride to Sault (there is a
wonderful Boulangerie and a chocolate maker in Sault!)
and will be driven back to Crillon.
We will enjoy a great dinner this evening at the
hotel's gastronomical restaurant.
July 16th
Hotel Location : Crillon Le Brave
We can easily see Mont Ventoux from the hotel and this
is where our ride will take us today. One option is to
ride from the hotel to Bedoin, up the "Geant de
Provence" and back down the same side to return to the
hotel. The second one is to ride down the opposite
side into Malaucene. For those who enjoy downhills,
this is one is a blast! The second ride will loop
around the base of the climb and return to Crillon le
Brave.
Think Mont Ventoux might be a bit too much of
a challenge? The ride at the base of the climb is
still challenging enough to be interesting without
offering the challenge of the HC climb.
Those who would rather not ride this morning can
either enjoy a leisurely morning at our hotel, or can
be taken up to the top of Mont Ventoux. On a clear
day, the view is spectacular.

We'll take an early morning loop ride and change
before leaving our hotel. Those not riding can be
taken to one of the colorful open air markets the
Provence region is so famous for.
Those leaving today
will be taken to Orange TGV station while those
carrying on through the Pyrenees will be taken to
Carcassonne for our next overnight.
