Itinerary

May 21st

We will be picking up at the Hilton Los Angeles airport at 10:00am and will drive east to intersect the stage itinerary (we can arrange overnight accommodations at the Hilton for the evening of the 20th, if you wish).

The Queen stage of the 2010 ATOC race will include 13,000-14,000 feet of climbing up to one of the ski resorts in Big Bear. Race organizers are waiting on clearance from the State because parts of the route include areas affected by the Station Fire. We will finalize our cycling itinerary based on is decided with regard to routing, but we will be along the final climb to Big Bear Lake and will have a ride of approximately 50 miles planned.

After the excitement of the race, we will make the short transfer to the beautiful Lake Arrowhead Resort where we will overnight. Those who wish can ride the 20 miles (mostly downhill).

We will enjoy a nice group dinner this evening at the BIN 189 Restaurant

Hotel; Lake Arrowhead Resort

May 22nd

We will have a short morning loop ride of about 25-30 miles around Lake Arrowhead (roughly 1450 feet of elevation gain) before going to Los Angeles to see the race.

The time trial will take place entirely with downtown LA - starting and finishing near the Staples Center. Not only will we be there to see riders in their individual effort, but we will catch all the action and excitement from the best spot of the race -the VIP Hospitality! Watch exclusive live race feeds on the flat screen monitors while enjoying complimentary food and beverages.

Once the Time Trial is over is over we will make our way West to Westlake village where we will spend the final two nights of this trip in the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel. Dinner will be on your own tonight and if the schedule is somewhat similar to last year we should be at our hotel around 4:30pm or 5:00pm. Once we have confirmation of the time schedule, those who wish can schedule massages and treatments.

Hotel; Four Season, Westlake Village

May 23rd

Will the race have been decided by now, or will the circuit race in the Santa Monica Mountains prove decisive? We will be there to find out first-hand. Our morning ride will take us along the stage course. Those who prefer to to ride will be able to see the final preparations for the race taking place (or sleep in and enjoy our time at the Four Seasons?).

Once the stage is off we will gain access once again to the VIP Hospitality.

We will finish the trip with a final group dinner at elegant Hampton's restaurant where we will toast an action packed week of racing, riding, sightseeing and camaraderie.

Hotel; Four Season, Westlake Village

May 24th

We will have a morning transfer to LAX airport for those who wish to take advantage of it. You may otherwise leave the hotel (or extend) at your discretion!
