This trip is for spectators who love the sport of professional cycling and want to see the big race in Italy! It will cover the important final stages of the 2025 Grand Tour in Italy from the mountain stages in the area around Bormio including Mortirolo Pass, Lake Como area, then onto the final stage through the streets of the eternal city…Rome. This package offers spectacular settings and fun race viewing as the peloton races to the finish of the first grand tour of the year.
Like all of our trips, we will have a couple of cool cultural experiences in addition to the great race viewing. We will do a tour of the Lake Como area and a walking tour of Rome to get an authentic feel for this amazing city. Although we are not an official tour operator for this event, we have been in the past and have extensive experience in Italy at this event. We will have private viewings from which we will watch the race and enjoy being in the crazy crowds to feel the energy and cheer for our favorite racers and teams! This package also includes access to a VIP venue in Rome from which to view the final stage of the race.

Hotel Location Bormio
We will be picking up at Milan Malpensa airport (MXP) in the early afternoon and will make our way to Bormio, an alpine city located in the Alps of northern Italy. Bormio is known for it’s snow skiing but is just as popular in the summer with cycling, hiking, thermal baths and eating!
The group will have the chance to shake off the dust from traveling with a visit to the historic part of Bormio full of shops, restaurants and museums.
Tonight we will enjoy a welcome dinner where our guide will explain the plan for the coming week and we will receive a gift from Custom Getaways.

Good morning and let’s get going! Today the spectators can visit one of many thermal baths in the area. Bormio has the largest number of baths in the Alps. If you’d rather lace up your hiking boots, there are many trailheads in close proximity to our hotel. The views are astounding.
Mid-afternoon the group will walk to a local restaurant for a private viewing of today’s stage. Today’s stage will test the racers as they tackle Mortirolo pass early in the day. Mortirolo is known for its relentless gradient and steep sections. Our private viewing will include food, drinks and TVs for us to follow the race until the racers pass right in front of us in Bormio!

Start village and Lake Como
Date Thursday, May 29

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll check-out of the hotel and transfer to the town of Morbegno, the start of today’s stage. We will have the opportunity to walk around the team bus area and see the racers ride to the sign-in stage before they start their 144km ride towards Cesano Maderno.
Every stage start is full of energy, especially this late in the race when the GC contenders are making their moves. In the afternoon, we will transfer towards our hotel in Como. Along the way, we will stop for the amazing views and learn why this area is so diverse in its history.
We will cap off the evening with a group dinner with local cuisine and stories of the day.

Date Friday, May 30
Hotel Location Champoluc
The group will transfer this morning towards the finish of today’s stage in the alpine town of Champoluc. This is an important mountain top finish and the crowds should be very exciting!
We’ll check into our hotel in the Champoluc ski resort before heading to our private viewing where we will have authentic Italian food, drinks and TV’s to watch the race before we join the crowds in the streets to see the racers pass!
Train to Rome
Date Saturday, May 31

After breakfast, we will drive a couple of hours to the train station that will take us to the Eternal City….Rome.
The train ride is approximately 3 hours…plenty of time to rest before our final days in the capital of Italy sightseeing and witnessing the final stage of the race.
We will check into our hotel and you’ll be on your own to explore this amazing city and find a place for dinner with some of your new friends.

Date Sunday, June 1

This morning we will do a group walking tour to see some sights in the city of Rome. You will have time for lunch before meeting the group back near the VIP venue. We will enter the VIP venue around 15:00 and be there until the end of the race.
This venues has food, drinks, TV’s and private restrooms…a great way to see the end of the race in style! After the race, we will enjoy our farewell dinner at a local spot near the Coliseum. We hope you will take a stroll after dinner and enjoy the sights and sounds of one of the greatest cities in the world. Don’t miss the gelato near the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps!
